My BIG Journey
“Mum, seriously, I’ll be fine,” I called out as she slowly faded
away into the distance. It was my birthday and I was going on my first camp, in
the jungle, alone. I live with my mum, and my only friend, Jacob. Jacob is our
dog, and he loves the outdoors. Dad passed away when I was six, but I’ve gotten
used to it. Anyway, back to the trip.
I reached the jungle, and smelt the fresh, cool, air up my nose, then, I smelt danger. It was
a Cayman was hiding in the nearby river. It was so close I could smell its
deadly breath. Then I saw my only chance, a large piece of thick bamboo twice
the size of tiny me. So to save my entire life, I grabbed the bamboo, started
to sprint towards the gigantic beast, and pole-vaulted over him before he could
take a bite out of my flesh.
After that, I started to run. I ran, and ran, and ran, until, I
came to a big clearance. A humungous meadow in the middle of the jungle .Why hadn’t
anyone found it before me? I don’t know. But all I knew was it was the perfect
place to camp in the jungle.
