 Cats in NZ!

Introduction

We have one of the highest cat ownership rates in the world, if not the highest. Almost half of all households in New Zealand have at least one cat, and 20 per cent have more than two. There are more than a million cats in the country - with little to no regulation or monitoring on them.

Cats on fences

Cats love to sit on fences. Not because indecisive, but because fences, especially the ones with wide rails, are a jumpable height and gives a very nice view. So they can get away from dogs or other pests like humans.

Natural killers

These feline lovers aren’t as cute as they look they can also be viscous. The cats in ancient Egypt they were made for fighting. Cats are natural fighters and they also fight for their lives. About 40 per cent of New Zealand's native land-birds are already extinct, and of all the bird species remaining 37 per cent are endangered because of our cats, but we can’t stop them. There doing what there a meant to do, it’s just life.

The silly ones!

Some cats aren’t as smart like they usually are sometimes they act like different animals. These funny felines don’t always sleep all day some of the feline acts. All cats like food so you decide to give the cats a big bowl fall but the cat didn’t want it, and some cats want to have someone to play with so you got a cat to be its pal but all they do is sleep. These cats can’t do one thing they would do the other.

Cats in books

You might have heard of greedy cat and Garfield and you think to yourself my cat is just like that. Well cats are just like that. Lazy things, all they do is sleep most of the time. Cats sleep up to 16 hours a day but with an older person they can sleep with them and it would be just fine.    

Cat drama

Cat drama is something like doing laps around the table three times or meowing and meowing until there’s food well there just trying to get your attention. Cat drama would include play fighting, doing tricks, and maybe even hiding in the cupboard with all the cat food. Cats will do this to get all the attention in the world to come and something with them.    

Ellie's Easter Holiday

MY EASTER HOLIDAY

  On Friday we went to Hanmer Springs & on the way we got pizza for tea & we also had to stop because one of the caravan’s wheels were smoking.

The next day we put the orning up & I helped by holding the poles, then after dinner we watched the movie ‘Spiderman.’

On Easter Sunday I got lots of yummy Easter eggs & we went to the pools & we got to go into a private pool.

Then on Monday we had to leave so I helped Mum & Dad take the orning down.

 Then on Tuesday I helped my Mum look after the kids- Felix, Zachary, Kobie, Gabriela & my sisters- Chloe & Katie.

Sophie F's Easter

EASTER!

On my Easter break it was really weird because EQC were painting our house. We have to sleep in the shed. Ben, Hannah and I have to sleep in the theatre room. Mummy and Daddy have to sleep in the guest room.

And there is only one bathroom cause if you’re in the shower and if somebody needs to go toilet it is really embarrassing. On Easter Sunday I woke up to find a traol next to my bed. I followedd  the trail and left all the bad eggs for Ben and Hannah . The tail led led to big Easter egg.

Easter Enjoyment-Kalista

   Easter Enjoyment

On Thursday my sister and I had the day off school because my mum was having her graduation from CPIT. On Friday we went camping at Ashley Gorge for Easter and when we got there we as far up the river as we could and rafted back. On Saturday we went back up the river where we swam and jumped of rocks and when we got back we melted chocolate and put it in chocolate moulds to make Easter eggs. On Easter Sunday I found some Easter eggs and went outside ad met a girl called kyla and we rode our bikes with each other and then after that we went to the river and I was first to jump of the rocks, the only one that went swimming and first to see the wild sheep. On Monday we were home and we went to see “The Croods” at hoyts and by the end of the day Alani was playing video games. On Tuesday Alani was  playing video games the hole day while I took my rabbit for a walk outside.

Frankin's Holiday

The longest Easter holiday   

1^st day me and my brother Blaithan went to Otamatata we had to wake up early so we were literally at each other’s throats

2^nd  day still in Otamatata bored out of my mind then one thought says “read a book” the other says  “just be bored it doesn’t matter”

3^rd  day it’s Easter “HIP HIP HOORAY” it’s Easter “OHHHHHH silly bunny only got a small bowl full” well on the road to Roxbrough we stopped  in Alexandra and met up with my uncle Dixen,my uncle jase and my dad’s  friend David or teaspoon went on the jet skis there

4^th day in Roxy wondering around met my aunt Tereasa, cousin Carly and also met my other cousin Breiana in there café called 103 the lounge got some food and what a surprise we met our 2^nd cousin Taylor we did not know were to sleep that night because everyone was busy but in the end we chose Shag point which is in-between Timaru and Omaru

5^th day we went home knowing that that was one the longest Easter holidays yet.

Amelia's Recount

Easter in the  drought landsOn Wednesday 27^th march 2:00 I left school and went home to pack and at 2:30 I got in my dad’s Ute with the boat on the back of the Ute we set off to Moanna, the very, very small town right beside lake Brunner.The next day we went for a very long bike ride around Moanna and did that all day and we did have brakes every now and then.On Friday we set off to the wharf and went for a boat around the lake on my dad’s boat. Dad dropped Abby, my sister, Cath, my mum and I off at my favorite beach. I went swimming and I found a freshwater crayfish and I took him home.The day after that was Easter Saturday! And I made lots of Easter things and homemade Easter eggs and roasted marsh mellows. We went to the pub to celebrate my mum and dads wedding anniversary. I got bored very fast so I went to the skate park over the road and went biking down a very steep hill, it was so steep I busted my gears!On Sunday we looked everywhere for Easter bunny’s gift and there was an Easter hunt! It took till lunch to find it all! And it was

Last Friday my friend Maddie came over for a sleepover. That night we watched the movie “When In Rome”.  Then on Saturday we wrote a song and then she left and my dad  my sister and I went to mini-golf and I got a hole in one on the last hole I won my score was 63 my sisters 64 and my dad 65. Then on Sunday my sister had her friend Hayley over and we watched pursier and dirty dancing then on Monday we went shopping and the rest of the weekend we relaxed at home.

Cody's Awesome Easter

EASTER WAS AWESOME

On Friday 29 of March me my mum and brother had to sand all the doors in the house all day. On the 30 of March we painted the doors all day but that night me and my brother and granddad went to Woodford Glen Speedway. You won’t believe how many times the ambulance came out twice in one race. At the end there was a demolition derby. For Easter I got lots of Easter Eggs.

The best Easter ever In the Easter holiday I saw battleship the movie. Then I went to Thompson Park I kind of skid on my butt then I went to Woodford glen speedway it was mostly modified racing but in the end it was a RAMP DEMO DERBY!!!!!!! It was really awesome there was a car that tried to two wheel the ramp but over did it and rolled and rolled and rolled to the inside where the crew extinguished the flame then a car hit the ramp and went flying like a plane then hit the side barrier and lit flame extinguished the fire and there was a car that looked like an old police car and that car got rammed real bad and spun so it had to go backwards and was pushed for a boost from another car and for the entertainment of the crowd and it was entertaining all right it was like watching a humming bird being pushed by a bee then it was Easter and I had a handful of French chocolate eggs and a small chocolate bunny.

My Holiday Adventure

 I went ice skating with phoebe and I did the dancing competition and a won candyfloss. I was skating with Phoebe and she tripped me over and I also got heaps and heaps of chocolate yum:].the next day I went to the dog park with my friend and her dog called New-New she can jump through hoops and went swimming in the lake we went for a walk then we hopped in the car and New-New went on my lap and she was so, so wet. Then I woke up and got my bag and put my R.C. car in my bag and scooted to Jonties then Ashwin came and we had banana cake then we got Jonties R.C. boat and put it in the creek he steered it into the weed we had to get it out then I  had to go to football training at 4:30 to 6:00 I had nachos for tea.

Blaithan's Easter Trip

MY EASTER HOLIDAY

Firstly we woke up at 6:00 to get ready for the trip we left at 7:00 to go to Otematata. The next day we went biscuting on the daredevil biscuit I went down the rapids and rid on my bike.

 On Easter morning we woke up grabbed all the Easter eggs and left for Alexandra to drop our dads off so they could ride on their jet skis to the roxbrough dam we went there to pick them up before we left the adults drank a few beers while dad made a bow ‘n’ arrow for me, we found a dead stoat and fed it to the eels we also went rock climbing then we left to Mark and Caroline’s farm.

When we got there we I went for two rides on the motorbike we named lots there was goldilocks, prisoner, angry, smelly, fluffy and the girls named one Justin Beiber as well all got a ride in a HUGE tractor it was amazing we even saw a school swimming pool. We stayed up late and watched bedtime stories, the time traveller’s wife and rise of the guardians we also pretended we were sumo wrestlers and played hide and seek. It was an unbelievable holiday and hope to have another great one next year.

Holly's Easter Eggstravaganza

My Easter weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

On Friday 29^th of March we had a day off school. Today we went to the gardens and the museum. In the museum we went to the paua house and normal olden day things. On Saturday we just stayed at home well, some friends came over but, we still just stayed home. On Sunday well, Sunday was EASTER!!!! I went to the lounge and on the couch there were two small piles of presents. One was mine one was my little brothers Mack. The smaller one was mine. For Easter I got a MP3 player and a giant chocolate Easter bunny, a plastic egg filled with lollypops and a packet of mini cream eggs. Then when mum got up and we all got ready we went on a tram to a little olden day village thing. We got some food and drinks we also went on a steam train. We also stayed the night at grandmas. On Monday we went to the movies the movie was called the Croods it was about cave men and the islands breaking up it was really fun. On Monday had to get up at 8:00 to go to my dad’s at 8:30! So early. We went to toyworld and I got something from there then waited in the car and found my friend Vanessa I also played on the computer and drew.

EASTER!

It was the 29 of March I awoke to find things in my Easter basket

 Lolly mix, Marshmallow bunny, 3 Turkish delight eggs, Big Easter bunny and a small Easter bunny. And my brother got the same as me.

30 of March we got a mug and an Easter egg from Nana S.

31 of March we got a movie called Hop. 1 of April we got another visit from the Easter bunny.

Nikita's Eggciting Easter

Easter holidays

On Thursday the 28^th of March I was excited about the Easter holidays so I could stuff my mouth with chocolate.

On Friday, I went to the mall with my mum, dad and my brother. We went shopping for new plants for our garden.

On Saturday we went to the market and bought some books and roses. After that we took my brother to my uncle’s place because Hudson wanted to stay there for the night.

Then on Sunday I woke up and said it’s finally came!!! My nana came around at about lunch time and bought round and Easter present. She gave me an icing Easter egg and an envelope with five dollars in it.

On Monday we had hot cross buns for breakfast with bacon, eggs   we just and croissants. For the rest of the day we just relaxed.

Then on Tuesday we went back to the mall and bought walky talkys.so for the rest of the day my brother and I was talking on them and couldn’t wait till school the next day.

I wonder what will happen next year.

Bella's Easter Break

MY EASTER BREAK

‘Are we there yet?’ On 29 March my family and I drove to Rakaia Huts for the Easter break. The drive was about 1 hour long from where I live in Kainga. When we arrived we put all our things in the room we were staying in. About 20 minutes later my friend Brooke showed up with her older brother Jacob, her mum and her stepdad. My sisters were following us around like a bad smell, which was SUPER-DUPER annoying. A short while after lunch, Jacob took Brook and I down to the waterfront on my nana’s friend’s three-wheeler motorbike.

That night, Brooke slept in the room that I was sleeping in. We watched a movie called ‘Mr Mgorium’s wonder Emporium’. The next day we had whitebait fritters for breakfast. It was delicious. For the rest of the day, we cartwheeled down the lawn, went down to the waterfront loads of times, had lunch, then dinner. Then we had a spa bath and it didn’t go well for the bubbles overflowed and my nana screamed when she saw it.  

The next day yippee Easter we went upstairs and what did we see but why one big chocolate Easter bunny and four mini Easter eggs on the table I got a big plastic egg with 16 lolly pops in it

Then Brookes mum gave us a big chocolate egg and my sister Baillie sat on her egg and it was in pieces that afternoon we played games on he lawn with my nanas friend’s grandsons to be honest it was really fun after that we went home and that was my Easter break!!!!!:)

On the Easter Friday my family celebrated my Dads birthday with my Gran, Granddad, aunty, uncle and two cousins. On Easter Saturday mum, dad and I went to stay the night at my friend’s house my brothers went to my gran and granddads house. On Easter Sunday mum, dad, my brothers and I came home and had an Easter egg hunt. On Easter Monday my gran and I went onsie shopping for me. On Easter Tuesday I had a nothing day at home
